This 1964 image was taken in the flight path analysis area of JPL's Space Flight Operations Facility (SFOF). Before computers were available to instantly transmit data from one point to another, this method was used to send information about a spacecraft from SFOF to other areas of JPL, and to off-site locations. When the information was printed out or typed on paper and placed in a frame, a small closed-circuit television camera suspended above it would transmit the picture.
