Groups of Apollo astronauts visited JPL to look at Surveyor photographs of the lunar surface. Dr. Leonard Jaffe, head of the Materials Research Section, provided information recently received from Surveyor 1. This lessened fears that rocks, dust, or unknown terrain might interfere with or limit photography, landing, walking or driving the LRV (Lunar Roving Vehicle).
